Before your first class, we’ll ask you to complete a client enrolment form. This helps us understand any health conditions, ensure your safety, and tailor the class to suit your needs and goals. Our aim is to help you move confidently and achieve the best possible results.

All equipment is provided, including mats, blocks, small balls, resistance bands, and handheld weights,

just bring yourself. Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely. If you feel comfortable, more fitted clothing can help your teacher guide your alignment for optimal technique.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect from my first group?

All our classes are mixed level and ability, so there may be other beginners such as yourself, or others who have been practicing for many years.  Regardless of your level or ability you’ll be welcomed with open arms by your friendly teacher, and fellow students.  We’ll make sure that we demonstrate exercises for you so its easier to follow along, and your teacher will begin to get an idea of how you move and where we are best able to help you in meeting your goals.  We’ll begin to pepper in some of the Pilates fundamentals throughout the class so that you can start to understand these.  At the end, the teacher will be available to answer any questions you have.  We’ll be in touch with you the following day to see how you felt it went and to provide more information about how to sign up to further classes if you wish to continue.

How often should I do Pilates?

Doing Pilates even once a week, you will soon start to see the benefits.  Obviously the more you do it the quicker you will start to notice the differences, and the greater your improvements will be.   Joseph Pilates view was that 4 times a week was optimal, however we understand that we all live busy lives and this isn’t necessarily achievable for most of us. If you are interested in doing a few exercises at home between classes, speak to your teacher for tips on what would exercises would be the most beneficial for you.  A one-off 1:1 session may be beneficial to ensure that you understand how to carry out the exercises at home safely, and to get the maximum benefit out of each movement.

What should I wear?

Most importantly, wear clothes that you are comfortable in and that you can move freely in.  We don’t wear shoes for Pilates, and socks are usually more comfortable than bare feet.  If you are able to, wear clothes that fit closely to your body as it will help your teacher to see your spine and how your body is moving more easily, and therefore it will be easier to offer corrections.  But most importantly - we want you to be comfortable and move freely.  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
